Good Shepherd Lutheran Church is celebrating its 40th anniversary on Sunday, October 4, 2009.  We invite you to come and celebrate this special day with us of ministry in our Lord’s Church.  Our guest preacher for both the 7:45 and 10:30 a.m. services on this day will be the first pastor of Good Shepherd, Rev. Terrell “Terry” Schneider.  We are including a mission emphasis, as well, to acknowledge and remember that through God’s blessings in mission outreach Good Shepherd was founded.  Following the 10:30 service on that day there will be a dinner.  Please RSVP no later than Monday, September 28th, to 920-231-0530 if you plan on attending the dinner.”

Reminder:  YFC Activity for September will be bowling at Oshkosh Lanes on September 13 from 1-3 pm.   We will meet at the lanes at 1pm for 2 games of bowling, pizza and sodas.  The cost to each participant is $5.00 and YFC will pick up the balance.  Please plan on joining us for an afternoon of fun and fellowship.  This event is open to any 6th-12th grade students and we invite you to bring a friend.  Please let Shelly know if you will be there.

Parent’s Night for Volleyball is October 12th.  Please mark your calendars.  More information will follow.

After Care News

Hello, my Name is Mrs. Koplitz and I am the Aftercare Leader. I am also a teacher here at Trinity.

In the days and weeks to come I would like parents using Aftercare to send a snack along with their child in their backpacks for their snack after school. If you would like to donate a food item for the few times someone might forget their snack that would be appreciated. There is no budget at this time set aside to buy snacks for Aftercare time.

 Sincerely, Mrs. Jane Koplitz

Congratulations to the Girls A & B Volleyball teams on a good start to their season.  Both teams are 3-0!!

Students in Mrs. Koplitz room have a website. There is information on it about what is happening in their room. There is even an information game to play called "Club Ed" where 5 and 6th Graders can earn points. It is also attached to the church website. The sight is: http://jkoplitz.weebly.com. It works best for now just to type that into the top URL address location rather than the smaller search bar in google or yahoo.

The Fun/Walk is scheduled for Friday, September 25.  We need some parent/friends volunteers to help monitor the crosswalks.  Volunteers should be at the school by 12:30 pm for a pre-run meeting.  The event will start at 1 pm.  We will donating to the local VFW with money earned by the runners/walkers.  Pledge sheets are attached to this hard copy.

PLEASE NOTE:   Regarding information on the H1N1 virus the Oshkosh Area School District has made available to all schools.  Attached to both the hard copy and also the email distribution is a synopsis of that information.

CAMPBELL SOUP LABELS:  Our school has been part of the Campbell’s “Labels for Education” program for several years.  Thanks to all of you who take the time to remove your labels and bring them in.  Labels from Campbell’s, Swanson, V8 and more are collected to be redeemed for various items, such as computer software, etc.  The most important part of the label is the UPC code.  Please do not just send the front portion of the label.  They are no longer accepted.  Before the labels are sent in to the company, they are cut and sorted.  Labels not containing the UPC code are thrown away.  There are receptacles both here at school and at church for collections.  If you have questions, please contact the school or church office.
